The aim for setting up this blog is to foster an intellectual web discussion by both philosophers and non-philosophers alike by raising some concerns and posing some questions that come about while researching in the general areas of Bioethics, Ethics, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Mind, Philosophy of Science, Epistemology, Politics, and Philosophy of Law. More specifically; areas and arguments concerning morality, free Will, consciousness, belief, punishment, and ideas on the intersections of knowledge and action as well as psychology and the law. We invite comments and discussion from all disciplines and not only from our colleagues in the philosophical community. We will also be publishing news and our views on the state of the discipline as well as CFP’s for any professional or graduate conference in Psychology or Philosophy. Feel free to send them call along in an email if you are interested.
Some of the posts will concern our “take’s” on current events. If it’s in the news and concerning morality, it’s relevant. One of our goals is to provide a forum that enables a friendly community of people interested in the topics we will be blogging about to discuss, disagree, and debate the subject matter. At times, others may guest blog, some regularly, on the above mentioned areas to provide a different perspective. If interested, feel free to contact us at aphilosopherstake@gmail.com to be added as a contributor. We prefer early career philosophers.
We reserve the right to deny, accept, or summarize comments that are not intended to further the discourse. If anyone has questions please feel free to email (Justin) at the above address. If you have a CFP for a philosophy conference or journal please email it to us and we will have it up ASAP.
Many topics are sensitive (especially in bioethics and politics) and the authors do not intend to offend anyone when engaging with these sensitive issues. If you feel any contributor to this blog is trying to offend you or the views you have espoused please contact Justin immediately. With that said, we look forward to reading your responses.
If you have any questions regarding specific posts, guest blogging, or further questions about the blog in general, feel free to contact us at aphilosopherstake@gmail.com . Or, feel free to contact the author of the post in question directly.
Thanks in advance.

I enjoyed reading your post on the top arguments for meat-eating. Considering sentience and power-hierarchies leads to valuable reflections on how we consume/use things and others. Look forward to reading more of what you have to say; hopefully you’ll continue to find read-worthy topics on my blog as well.
