Sad News!

DENNIS MCKERLIE (1948-2014)
I’m very saddened to share the news that Professor Dennis McKerlie passed away late last week. Dennis received his DPhil from Oxford in 1977 and joined the University of Calgary in 1984. He was a distinguished scholar, best known for his groundbreaking work on egalitarianism. His final book, Justice between the Young and the Old, was published by Oxford in 2012. He was an extraordinary thinker, a thoughtful and considerate colleague, and a much loved friend to many in the department. We will all miss him greatly. There will be a memorial service in Calgary, details of which will be made available when known. The department will also be hosting a two day conference on Dennis’s work February 28-29, 2015.
